New Town man pleads guilty to assault
Daniel Chase, 32, New Town, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault resulting in serious bodily injury for a June 2010 incident near Lake Sakakawea, according to a U.S. Department of Justice press release issued Wednesday.
Daniel Chase, 32, New Town, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault resulting in serious bodily injury for a June 2010 incident near Lake Sakakawea, according to a U.S. Department of Justice press release issued Wednesday.
Chase and the victim got into an argument. Chase assaulted the victim, using his fists and hands. The victim suffered multiple injuries, including a broken tooth, facial contusions and bruising, and internal abdominal injuries which required surgery, according to the release.
The charge of assault carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Sentencing is Nov. 19.
