Judge H. Patrick Weir ordered David Blinn’s, 24, cash bond remain at $100,000.
Blinn who is charged with one count of felony gross sexual imposition, had a bond reduction hearing. Jay Greenwood, who defended Blinn in place of his attorney Kevin McCabe, said his client could not secure the funds.
“He’s not a flight risk,” Greenwood said. “He works here and his family is here.”
But Stark County Assistant State’s Attorney Rhonda Ehlis said similar charges are pending in Idaho, and she wanted Blinn’s bail at $100,000.
“The safety risk to the public is huge,” Ehlis said.
Clayton Hopper, 32, also was in court Monday for a preliminary hearing, where he pleaded not guilty to four felony counts of gross sexual imposition.
