Letter: Take yourself to the ball game...

I would like to encourage you to make a trip to Southside Ballpark.

Starting today through Monday, Dickinson will be hosting the Central Plains Regional Baseball Tournament.

Whether you crave baseball or not, it is worth a visit to see one of Dickinson’s gems.

I think we all have seen the other gems in town like the public library, City Hall, West River Community Center and the Badlands Activities Center but have you seen the ballpark lately?

The all new Astoria Field is the latest addition to the complex. The Parks and Recreation Department staff has done an incredible job blending the natural grass to the artificial turf.

Grab the kids or the grandparents and take them to the ball park. You can buy them some peanuts or Cracker Jacks or cheeseburgers and ice cream or just sit there and enjoy some great baseball at the Southside Ballpark.
