The Dickinson Police Department said a 48-year-old man who led them on a vehicle and foot chase Friday afternoon was apprehended Friday night in west Dickinson.

Police sent a phone recording at about 12:50 p.m. asking residents to keep their doors locked because after a vehicle pursuit, they are searching for a male with an assault warrant-domestic related.

The suspect was arrested without incident, DPD Sgt. Mike Hanel said at about 9 p.m.

Handgun ammunition was found in the vehicle but the passenger claims the driver wasn’t armed. “But we always err on the side of caution,” Hanel said.

Police detained the passenger, whose name was not immediately available.

The driver who allegedly ran is Adolfo Lepe Sr., Dickinson.

Officers got a tip after noon that a wanted man was seen by Maverick's Saloon. Upon officials’ arrival to the location, Lepe Sr. began to pull away in his truck and a pursuit ensued.

Police stopped the truck on the other side of town, near the Spur Bar & Lounge in west Dickinson.
