JAMESTOWN — The Dickinson girls golf team got good performances from its returning all-state juniors to put itself into fourth place after the first day of the season-opening East-West Classic at Jamestown Country Club.
Rachel Jahner shot an 82 and Riana Cooper an 83 as each finished in the top 10 and helped Dickinson to a 386 team score.
“It was the first tournament, I just wanted them to go out and play and try and hit the ball as solid as they can,” Dickinson coach Sara Berglund said. “I saw a lot of really good shots out there. The big thing is course management, making good decisions on the course. They’ll learn a lot from what they did today and hopefully carry that over into tomorrow.”
Jill Mueller (109), Katherine Kessel (112) and Kelsey Yon (122) rounded out Dickinson’s team scoring.
