Gov: New Valley City water plant state's finest

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — State officials say a new $21 million upgrade to Valley City's water treatment plant makes it more capable of handling water from Devils Lake.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — State officials say a new $21 million upgrade to Valley City's water treatment plant makes it more capable of handling water from Devils Lake.

The plant draws water from the Sheyenne River. The river is being used as a channel to siphon off excess Devils Lake water, and the water has higher sulfate levels than normal.

Gov. Jack Dalrymple says the improvements make the Valley City water treatment plant the best facility in the state, and one of the best in the country.

Dalrymple says “the quality of the water that's going to come out of this plant is going to be second to none.”
