Bismarck police say a moose was spotted on the grounds of an elementary school in Bismarck Saturday morning.
Police are unsure how the animal got to the school. They started receiving calls about the moose around 7 a.m.
Police and game wardens from the North Dakota Game and Fish Department followed the moose to the Missouri River, where the animal swam back and forth several times before exiting the river south of Mandan.
Bismarck police Lt. Dave Draovitch says the animal didn't cause any damage and nothing was wrong with it.
Several wild animals have made their way to Bismarck over the years.
