Midgets win 1 of 3 at East-West Invitational

BISMARCK — The Dickinson High volleyball team faced one of the best teams and players in Class A to start their season, but bounced back from a pair of early losses at the season-opening East-West Invitational on Friday.

Fargo North defeated the Midgets 25-21, 28-26, 15-8 and Fargo Davies edged Dickinson 25-19, 20-25, 15-13. The Midgets rebounded to end the day with a 26-24, 25-21, 15-13 victory over Grand Forks Central.

Seniors Abby Grove and Ali Moody led the way for the Midgets. Grove had 27 kills on the day and Moody had 32 assists, 13 digs and five aces. Rachel Schroeder added six blocks while Taylor Cooper and Sierra Rohr each had eight kills.
