Priebe tallies wins for DHS boys tennis team

VALLEY CITY — Alex Priebe compiled a 3-0 record to lead the Dickinson High boys tennis team on Saturday.

The Dickinson sophomore won two singles matches and one doubles match, but Wahpeton and Valley City held on to defeat the Midgets 7-2 and 3-2, respectively.

Priebe defeated Wahpeton’s Jonathan Bartels 6-2, 6-0 in No. 2 singles and then teamed up with senior Hunter Jerome to win No. 1 doubles 6-2, 6-3 over Bartels and Colby Youngquist.

Priebe concluded his day by beating Valley City’s Dalton Ondracek 6-1, 6-1 in No. 1 singles. The Midgets won No. 3 singles on a forfeit. The match against Valley City ended early because of time constraints.

The Midgets travel to face Fargo Shanley and Fargo Davies on Friday.
