Minnesota man working on ND water project killed

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A man working on a water project in Bismarck died when he was struck by a backhoe bucket while in a trench installing pipe.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A man working on a water project in Bismarck died when he was struck by a backhoe bucket while in a trench installing pipe.

The 36-year-old man from Minnesota was not immediately identified. Authorities say he was working on Bismarck's new $16 million water intake project when the incident happened Sunday afternoon.

He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Authorities are turning over the investigation to the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
