BISMARCK — It was another runner-up day for the Dickinson High girls golf team.

The Midgets finished second, 30 strokes behind tournament host Bismarck Century, on Monday at Apple Creek Country Club and junior Rachel Jahner shot a 5-over-par 76 to take second.

Century’s Annie Nelson shot a 75 to win medalist honors. Dickinson junior Riana Cooper was third with a 77.

Century had a 333 team score, well ahead of Dickinson’s 363. Rachel Lantz (102) and Kelsey Yon (108) added to the Midgets’ team scores.

“There’s still some areas we need to work on,” Dickinson coach Sara Berglund said. “They hit the ball pretty well today, so I’m hoping they take some of that into tomorrow’s play and they learn from some of the stuff they did around the green.”

The Midgets play in the West Region Individual Qualifying Tournament today at Prairie West Golf Course in Mandan.
