BISMARCK — North Dakota airline boardings continue to increase.

The state Aeronautics Commission said passenger boarding numbers were up 20 percent in August compared to last year.

In Dickinson, the increase was 173 passengers, or 9.6 percent. That means 1,979 people boarded an airplane in Dickinson in August, an increase of more than 1,000 from two years ago.

Minot has seen the biggest jump, with a 50 percent increase in boardings over this time last year.

The terminal in Williston is now serving nearly 2,500 passengers, which is about seven times the number of passengers it did when it was first constructed.

Three cities saw passenger numbers decrease, including Devils Lake (down 182), Jamestown (down 121) and Williston (down 460).
