Richard Schmidt, Dickinson, smells a “pie” “baked” by Marilee Beavers, of Max, at the Pride of Dakota Harvest Showcase in Dickinson on Saturday. The pies were actually scented candles from Beavers’ business, Berry Fine Candle and Craft Designs. There were more than 80 vendors at the show in Dickinson, which is the first of the season. Holiday Showcases will be held in Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks and Minot later this year. The Dickinson event continues today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
