Friday Night Football: Shiloh beats back Wildfire in record-setting shootout

MOTT — Taylor Zentner set a school passing record Friday night, but Mott-Regent couldn’t catch up to Shiloh Christian in a 9-man, Region 4 shootout of a game.

Shiloh running backs A.J. Dale and Blake Emmel had huge nights of their own as the Skyhawks stayed unbeaten with a 58-50 victory over Mott-Regent.

Dale rushed for 302 yards and four touchdowns on 33 carries while Emmel had 192 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 23 carries.

Zentner was 25 of 34 for a Wildfire single-game record 507 yards passing. He threw five TD passes and had one interception.

Tyler Zentner had 227 yards receiving and three touchdowns on 10 receptions. Jonah Honeyman had 185 yards receiving and two TDs.

The Skyhawks improved to 6-0. Mott-Regent is 3-3.

BELFIELD — Cade Shypkoski racked up 127 yards rushing and two touchdowns as No. 2-ranked Heart River rode standout tailbacks Cole Hecker and Seth Ewoniuk to a huge first-quarter lead before resting them in the Class 1A, Region 4 victory.

Hecker had 88 yards and four TD runs on five carries. Ewoniuk rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on three carries while returning a punt 60 yards for a TD.

Heart River led 43-0 after the first quarter.
