Binstock places third behind Leingang, Lerew

BISMARCK — Dickinson High Jackson Binstock continued to his stellar sophomore season placing third in the Anderson-Stavn Invitational.
The Dickinson High boys and girls cross country teams placed third and fourth, respectively, on Saturday.
Binstock finished with a time of 16 minutes, 4 seconds as Bismarck High’s Jake Leingang won the invite with a time of 15:20. Leingang helped the Demons with 24 points for first place. Bismarck had five runners in the top 10 including the top two spots.
Williston finished second with 57 points, while Bismarck Century took third with 71 and Dickinson ended with 135.
The Midgets also had Collin Bren take 27th (17:29), followed by Gabe Dschaak in 29th (17:33) and Dylan Gress in 32th (18:00).
On the girls side, the Demons won with 22 points as Brittany Brownotter won the medalist with a time of 14:58. Brownotter was joined by teammates Alexis Zeis in second (15:00), Morgan Pierce in fourth (15:09) Grace Gannon in seventh (15:36) Madison Burgard in eighth (15:36) Kayla Wald in 10th (15:39).
Emily Tyrell was Dickinson’s highest finisher in 14th (15:47), while Meleah followed in 18th (16:04). The Midgets also had Shelby Stoltz in 22nd (16:27), Taylor Ihmels in 27th (16:44), Kelli Pavlicek in 28th (16:47), Shannon Stockert in 29th (16:47) and Katie Pavlicek in 30th (16:48).
The Midgets now travel to the Williston Invitational at 3:15 p.m. Thursday.
