For years we have waited for health care reform, but it was too controversial a subject for most politicians to touch. There was always a lot of talk, but not much was done.
Finally, we had a president who was willing to stick out his neck and do something. His affordable health care may not be the perfect solution, but it is better than what we have seen.
There are many things in this law that are good, for example, lower drug costs for seniors, insurance for those who were unable to get it in the past including people with serious conditions and young adults.
My grandmother had a saying that fits this situation, “Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.”
The real issue with this law is political. Your hear politicians wanting to get rid of President Barack Obama’s “Obamacare.”
They do not even consider any of the good parts and want to start over. Did they not have enough years before this bill passed, to do their own? Now they want to abolish what is already done and start over. How long will that take? Will we have to wait another ten or more years for it to get passed? Why not work with what we already have and improve it?
When I hear Obamacare, I think yes, Obama did care about the people who could not afford health care. He did something when no one else would take the chance. Remember Obama cares — he cares for the poor and the lower class. He wants everyone to be able to afford health care.
