Letter: Dann Greenwood has the experience and character to serve as judge

Experience is what is needed to fill the position of Southwest District judge — certainly experience with issues dealing with personal injury, real estate, probate, trust litigation, trusts and wills, divorce, debtor/creditor, small business setup, contracts, business and criminal law.

Dann Greenwood has all that and more. He is a member of the State Bar Association of North Dakota, North Dakota Trial Lawyers Association and Southwest Judicial District Bar Association.

Since being admitted to the North Dakota Bar in 1977, he has served as president of the State Bar Association of North Dakota and is current chairman of the Ethics Committee of the State Bar Association.

In addition, Greenwood has received the State Bar Association’s Community Service Award and Pro Bono and Outstanding Volunteer Awards. He is a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award from Boy Scouts of America Northern Lights Council. He has received the District Award of Merit and is a North Dakota Mason of the Year from Grand Lodge of North Dakota AF & AM. He has also received the Roughrider Country Kiwanis Club Builder’s Award.

He is a family man, with the practice of law in his system, with a father who served 40 years as a trial lawyer and a son who practices law.

There is no doubt in my mind that with the character and experience of Greenwood, he would serve Southwest District in an exemplary and professional manner.

Lyle Brudvig, Dickinson
