Titans drop 3 at Laker Invite

BURLINGTON — The Dickinson Trinity volleyball had a tough go against three formidable opponents on Saturday.

The Titans dropped straight sets to Lisbon, Langdon and Minot Our Redeemer’s at Des Lacs-Burlington’s Laker Invitational on Saturday. Lisbon won 25-9, 25-18, Langdon won 25-21, 25-16 and Our Redeemer’s won 25-5, 25-14.

“We played pretty solid teams today,” Trinity head coach Rayma Braaten said. “We had our ups and downs, but overall I think we played OK. We made fewer mistakes.”

Braaten hopes playing the three opponents translates onto the court for the rest of the season.

“It opened their eyes and shows them what is out there and where we need to be,” she said. “Hopefully, it will get us to work harder to get where we need to be.”

Despite losing three matches, Braaten can see her team improving and she hopes it all comes together when it matters most — playoff time.

“I see improvements constantly and hopefully by the time that everything counts, we can be at our best level,” Braaten said.

Trinity continues District 14 play by traveling to Hazen at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
