Ardie Huffman, 34, Dickinson pleaded not guilty Monday to a misdemeanor after being accused of strangling a woman on Aug. 22, according to a criminal complaint.
A Class C felony aggravated assault charge against him was dismissed at the preliminary hearing at the Stark County Courthouse. A no contact provision was also lifted.
Stark County Assistant State’s Attorney Rhonda Ehlis said the felony charge was amended at the request of the victim in the case and because other evidence warranted the change.
