First day of the pheasant hunt

Dickinson-area hunters, from left, James Wallace, Bob Vanderwal and Justin Michael, hunt for pheasants in a PLOTS (Private Land Open to Sportsmen) field Saturday morning southwest of Dickinson. They spotted one pheasant out of gunshot range and had shot one by 10 a.m. Saturday was opening day of the North Dakota pheasant season.
