Authorities ID man struck by train in Casselton
CASSELTON, N.D. (AP) — Authorities have identified a Casselton man who died when he was struck by a train in the southeastern North Dakota city.

The Highway Patrol says 69-year-old Eugene Kaatz died Saturday afternoon at a crossing on state Highway 18. Witnesses say he tried to cross the tracks while the crossing arms were down and red warning lights were flashing. The patrol says the train engineer also blew a warning whistle.
Kaatz was pronounced dead at the scene.
