The strong winds may cause difficult driving conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles such as semis, trucks, buses and SUVs. Motorists are advised to use caution when meeting and passing vehicles as well as driving through strong wind gusts.
According to the National Weather Service in Bismarck, strong northwest winds of 40 mph gusting to 65 mph will persist through central and western North Dakota this afternoon, with the system expected to move east across the state throughout the day.
