Heart River’s Hlebechuk signs with DSU for women’s golf

Mary Hlebechuk, a senior at South Heart High School, has signed a letter of intent to play for the Dickinson State women’s golf team beginning next fall.

Hlebechuk was Heart River’s most valuable player as a sophomore and junior. She finished 19th at the Class B state girls golf tournament as a junior.

“It’s been a huge dream since I started playing golf my sophomore year to play college golf and this is a huge opportunity for me,” Hlebechuk said in a press release.

Hlebechuk is also an all-Region 7 shooting guard for the Heart River girls basketball team.

“It is great to have someone that can play in the north with the temperature and the weather and she knows Dickinson State. She fits well with our program,” DSU head coach Thadd O’Donnell said.
