Bornemann leads Hazen into quarterfinals

HAZEN — Briar Bornemann rushed for 128 yards and five touchdowns as Hazen cruised into the Class 1A football playoff quarterfinals.

Bornemann had just 10 carries but scored on half of them as the No. 4-ranked Bison, the top seed from Region 4, rolled over Lewis & Clark-Berthold-Our Redeemer’s 50-20 on Saturday afternoon.

The Bison (8-1) totaled 354 yards as they moved on to face Heart River next Saturday.

The Cougars are the only team to defeat Hazen this season, though Bornemann did not play in that game, which was in Belfield.
