VP Biden lands in S. Dakota for McGovern service
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden has landed in South Dakota for a prayer service tribute to former Sen. George McGovern.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden has landed in South Dakota for a prayer service tribute to former Sen. George McGovern.
McGovern, the former Democratic presidential candidate, died Sunday at age 90. He and Biden are former Senate colleagues. Biden is among the political dignitaries expected at a Thursday evening prayer service.
Biden's plane landed amid wisps of snow in Sioux Falls about 30 minutes before the service starts at First United Methodist Church. He is scheduled to speak after Sen. Tim Johnson.
McGovern's funeral is set for Friday.
