Though the roads may look wet, it’s glare ice, Sgt. Mike Hanel said at 10:40 this morning.
The department has already responded to about a dozen weather-related accidents, he said.
Hanel advises that people stay off the roads and if they absolutely must travel, “People should go at a snail’s pace.”
City sand trucks are working to catch up, he said.
The Stark County Sheriff’s office issued a no travel advisory for Stark County due to icy conditions at about noon. All county buildings will be closing at 1 p.m. today.
