New Rockford-Sheyenne rallies past Divide County
GRAND FORKS — Josh Edmonson and Alex Perleberg combined for 347 yards and four touchdowns to lead New Rockford-Sheyenne to a 40-22 win over Divide County Friday in the North Dakota high school football 9-man state championship game.
GRAND FORKS — Josh Edmonson and Alex Perleberg combined for 347 yards and four touchdowns to lead New Rockford-Sheyenne to a 40-22 win over Divide County Friday in the North Dakota high school football 9-man state championship game.
Edmonson ran for 179 yards and scores of 1 and 5 yards and Perleberg ran a kickoff back 72 yards and scored on runs of 88 and 9 yards. Perleberg finished with 168 yards
Divide County (12-1) played a scoreless second half after losing Isaac Jacobs to injury. Jacobs had a Bowl-record 95-yard TD run and 99 yards rushing in the first half. He also returned a kickoff 76 yards for a score.
New Rockford-Sheyenne (12-0) won its first state title despite having zero yards passing.
Divide County quarterback Lance Knudson was 14-for-27 for 183 yards and a touchdown.
