Minnesota Crookston beats U-Mary on final play

GRAND FORKS — For the second straight year, the University of Mary football season ended with a loss on the final snap of the game.

Minnesota-Crookston scored a two-point conversion with no time on the clock after Talo Pascal’s 1-yard touchdown run to defeat the Marauders 37-36 at the Alerus Center in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division game.

U-Mary senior receiver Tyler Steffan, a Dickinson High school graduate, had six receptions for 57 yards and two touchdowns.

He finished his career with 30 TD catches and 163 receptions, which each rank second on the school’s all-time charts.

Craig Bagnell threw for 323 yards and five touchdowns for the Marauders, who finished the season with a 4-7 overall record and a 1-6 mark in the NSIC North.
