Ringwall places in 2 events for Williston

BISMARCK — Dickinson Trinity junior Ketti Ringwall nabbed two individual top-five finishes Saturday at the North Dakota state swimming and diving meet at the Bismarck Aquatic Center.

Ringwall, who competes for Williston through a co-op, took third and fourth in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle, respectively, and was named to the all-state first team.

Williston took fifth place with a team score of 218. It fell two points shy of fourth-place finisher West Fargo (220). Fargo North won the team title with 386 points, while Bismarck Century took runner-up (336) and Minot rounded out the top three (266).

Ringwall came into the state meet ranked No. 1 in the 100 freestyle and No. 2 in the 200 freestyle. She had times of 53.86 seconds in the 100 freestyle and 1:57.18 in the 200 freestyle.

Leah Grove, a freshman at Dickinson High, finished ninth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.24 seconds.

Fargo North’s Emily Roche was named Senior Athlete of the Year after winning the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 400 freestyle relay. She also finished runner-up in the 100 breaststroke. North coach Talia Butery won Coach of the Year.
