Another ND shop told to stop selling synthetic drugs

BISMARCK - North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has ordered another head shop to quit selling synthetic drugs marketed as bath salts.

BISMARCK - North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has ordered another head shop to quit selling synthetic drugs marketed as bath salts.

Stenehjem says Hemp Horizonz, owner Joseph Skorick and the Minot company's employees are banned from selling incense, bath salts and other synthetic products.

The attorney general issued a similar order Wednesday against Big Willies in Mandan.

Stenehjem has said he's planning to take the issue to the North Dakota Legislature in January. He said Wednesday that he plans to ask the state pharmacy board to approve an emergency rule that would outlaw the synthetic drugs.

The drugs are chemical substances that are marketed as legal alternatives to marijuana and other mind-altering drugs. Stenehjem says the drugs can make users paranoid and violent.
