Dickinson Rural Fire Department crews convene while containing a fire a few miles south of Dickinson on Highway 22 on Friday morning. The fire started in a shop on Evon J. Praus’ yard. Praus said she heard two pops, almost like gun shots, and looked out her kitchen window and saw that the shop was on fire. She promptly called 911, who forwarded the call to DRFD at about 9 a.m., Chief Andy Paulson said. In the shop were project cars belonging to Praus’ late husband. The fire started in the northeast corner of the shop and was contained, Paulson said. There was no major damage to the vehicles. Praus’ residence and other buildings on the property were not damaged.
