Gladys Luptak passed away on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Manorcare in Fargo, surrounded by her family.
Gladys Johnson was born Aug. 19, 1922, at Fryburg. She grew up on a farm. She attended school and graduated from high school in Fryburg.
She was united in marriage to Charles Luptak on April 7, 1942.
After World War II, they lived in Bismarck briefly and Wahpeton where Charles attended school.
They moved to Fargo in 1949, where her husband was employed by North Dakota State University. She worked at NDSU food service for 22 years and retired in 1986.
She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens a lot and followed the Minnesota Twins games on radio and television and also her spiritual music.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her son, Duane Russell, grandson, Charles Roy, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by one son, Alan, daughter-in-law,-Jan (Duane), six grandchildren: Amy Cossette, David Luptak, Jennifer Glassmaker, Jessica Reier, Troy Thomas and Traci Vierzba, plus 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Atonement Lutheran Church in Fargo.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service in the church Tuesday.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo.
