7 players are return selections on 9-man all-state team

Seven players were named to the North Dakota 9-man football all-state team for the second consecutive year on Monday.

North Star senior quarterback Jacob Hagler and receiver Daniel Grande, South Border senior running back Blake Bosch, Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter offensive lineman Andrew Beine, Cavalier senior defensive lineman Spencer Robbins and junior defensive back Ryan Chrest and Wyndmere-Lidgerwood senior offensive lineman Jeff Illies and senior defensive back Luis Vasquez were all first-team selections for the second straight year.

It was the third all-state selection for Vasquez and Illies, who were named to the second team as sophomores.

Senior linebacker Josh Edmondson and junior defensive back Ethan Haley represented 9-man champion New Rockford-Sheyenne while senior quarterback Lance Knudson, senior offensive lineman Ethan Feil and junior linebacker Isaac Jacobs represented championship game runner-up Divide County.

Beach senior Parker Abraham was the lone player from The Dickinson Press’ coverage area to earn a spot. He was a second-team selection.
