Rocky Mountain College staved off a Valley City State run in the final five minutes.

Joel Barndt’s 21 points led the Battlin’ Bears over Valley City 83-78 on Friday.

Don Parham supplied 16 points, while Malachi Roberts added 15 for Rocky (1-2).

Sekani Milligen had a game-high 24 points for the Vikings (4-2). Gus Kueber supplied 16 points and AJ McDonald had 13.

Valley City plays Dickinson State at 7 p.m. today, while Rocky plays Mayville State at 3 p.m.
