CROSBY — Jacob Volk scored 20 points as the Dickinson Trinity boys basketball team opened its 2012-13 season with an easy road victory against Divide County on Saturday afternoon.
Ben Gordon added 11 points as the Titans beat the Maroons 59-24.
“We played pretty well defensively. It was a typical first game though,” Trinity head coach Gregg Grinsteinner said. “Our effort was really good, our intensity was really good. On the offensive end we didn’t executed well but that will come.”
Isiah Binstock scored eight points and Jesse Kubik added six for Trinity.
Isaac Jacobs led Divide County with eight points.
The Titans (1-0) don’t play again until they visit Shiloh Christian at 6 p.m. next Saturday. The Skyhawks are ranked No. 6 in The Hoopster’s preseason power poll and Trinity is No. 9.
