Lazaro named Frontier wrestler of the week

WHITEFISH, Mont., — Dickinson State’s Bryden Lazaro was named the Frontier Conference wrestler of the week on Monday.

The 5-foot-6, 125-pound junior from Fair Oaks, Calif., won his weight class at the Battle of the Rockies open tournament on Saturday, Dec. 1 at Great Falls, Mont., and competed in the dual tournament there Friday, Nov. 30.

Lazaro, the ninth-ranked wrestler in his class in the NAIA, went unbeaten for the weekend. Of his six victories, three were pins, one technical fall and one major decision. His victories included wins over the fifth- and seventh-ranked wrestlers in his weight class.
