BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Montana State football team has a chance to avenge the loss that ended its run in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs last season.
The third-seeded Bobcats are hosting Sam Houston State Friday in a quarterfinal game that kicks off at 6:04 p.m. It will be broadcast on ESPN2.
Montana State (11-1) advanced with a 16-10 win over Stony Brook on Saturday while Sam Houston (9-3) got by Cal Poly 18-16.
Sam Houston played for the 2011 national championship after beating Montana State 49-13 in the quarterfinals and edging Montana 31-28 in the semifinals. Both of those games were in Huntsville, Texas.
