The Trinity High School Department of Music will present its Christmas concert, “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” at 3 p.m. today in the Trinity High School Auditorium.
“This year’s concert is a bit of a departure from what we have done in the past, Trinity music director Jeff Dasovick said. “We have done some very heavy concerts in the past that featured strictly sacred music, but there are quality songs out there that are quintessentially Christmas songs that aren’t sacred in nature and I wanted to explore them as well.”
The concert will feature performances by the concert band, the high school and junior high concert choirs, and the vocal jazz ensemble.
Dasovick said the concert will include sacred Christmas carols, as well as contemporary Christmas songs such as Jim Brickman’s “Hope is Born Again,” “The Christmas Shoes” by the Christian group Newsong and the timeless “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson”.
“We’ve had a lot of fun putting this concert together and hopefully the audience will enjoy it as well,” Dasovick said.
The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Maestro tickets are accepted.
