SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota transportation officials have reopened all stretches of Interstate 90 that were closed due to a weekend snow storm, but a large stretch of Interstate 29 in the eastern part of the state remains closed.

I-29 is still shut down between Watertown and Sioux Falls. The interstate reopened between Sisseton and Watertown on Sunday night.

The storm dumped more than a foot of snow on parts of South Dakota. Transportation officials are urging drivers to use caution because many roads remain icy.

The American News reports that many schools in the Aberdeen area are starting classes late on Monday. Aberdeen got just under 8 inches of snow on Saturday, breaking a 51-year-old city record for the date.

The Daily Republic reports schools in Mitchell also are opening late.
