Leonard and Georgene Bernhardt celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 11 with a dinner party for friends and relatives at the Tualatin Country Club in Tualatin, Ore.
Since it was Veterans Day, they included a POW/MIA remembrance ceremony and a Korean men’s choir sang.
The celebration included guests from Oregon, Washington, California, Minnesota and North Dakota.
The Bernhardts grew up in Taylor and were married Nov. 8, 1952, in Richardton. Leonard left a few weeks later for two years of active duty in the Korean War. Following his return, they moved to Oregon. They live in Beaverton, Ore., and are still active in their family business, Bernhardt Golf, along with volunteer work.
Their children and spouses are Douglas and Karen Bernhardt, Darnell and Raimond Adgers, Donna and Bob Wright, Dannette and Brian Liebreich and Darryl and Lori Bernhardt. The couple has 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
