Ken married Kathleen Krebs on April 17, 1975. When he was 22 years old, he was diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia, which is a rare nervous system disorder. With the help and dedication of his family, Ken was able to remain at home, and since 1995, he has been living at his parent’s home.
He enjoyed trips to Sturgis, bringing back tee shirts for everyone and belonging to a social group at Badlands. Ken loved to go fishing, buying fishing gear for the kids and grandkids, playing games and cards with the grandkids, taking the dogs for walks and spoiling them with treats.
Ken is survived by his three children, Kayleen (Tait) Obritsch, Fairfield, Katrina (Sheldon) Sivak, Bismarck, and Kenny (MaKenzie) Winch, Dickinson; eight grandchildren, Seth Obritsch, Breann Obritsch, Brayden Obritsch, Haley Winch, Emily Winch, Kobe Sivak, Alexis Sivak and Brady Sivak; his mother, Renata Winch, Dickinson; five siblings, Dennis (Deborah) Winch, Dickinson, Luann Winch, Dickinson, Phyllis (Allan) Jassek, Gillette, Wyo., Jeff (Rhonda Cook) Winch, Dickinson, and Tim Winch, Dickinson; and his buddy, Russell.
