Despite free throw troubles, Trinity defeats Bucs

Though they shot just 1 of 15 from the free-throw line, the No. 4-ranked Titans cruised to a 65-32 win over the winless Buccaneers at the Beach High School gymnasium.
“Little parts of the game we need to keep improving on,” Trinity head coach Gregg Grinsteinner said
Jacob Volk had a game-high 16 points and nine rebounds for Trinity (6-0). Ben Gordon added 11 points, five steals, three rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
Anthony Weinreis had eight points and six rebounds to lead Beach (0-5), which committed 31 turnovers.
“We really started out well,” Grinsteinner said. “We showed some different defensive looks tonight.”
The Titans host Heart River at 7 p.m. Thursday at Knights of Columbus Activities Center. The teams met in the Roughrider Tournament semifinals a week prior to this scheduled meeting with Trinity holding on for a 51-48 win.
