Midgets pick up first win of the season against Oilers

The Dickinson High girls hockey team picked up its first win of the season Thursday.

The Dickinson High girls hockey team picked up its first win of the season Thursday.

The Midgets netted goals in the second and third periods to beat Watford City 2-1.

McKenna Love scored with 1 minute, 56 seconds left in the second period, while Kayla Wallace added the game-winning goal in the third. Bree Jordan tallied the assist on Love’s goal and Rachel Lantz had the assist on Wallace’s goal.

Karie Skerda scored the Oilers’ lone goal just 51 seconds after Dickinson’s first goal.

Dickinson’s Paige Fahlstrom grabbed 22 saves, while Cheyanne Boot stopped 24.
