Marie Wanner, 90, Mott, formerly of Dickinson, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Mott Good Samaritan Society.

Marie Wanner, 90, Mott, formerly of Dickinson, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Mott Good Samaritan Society.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Church of St. Anne, with Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation is noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary is at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marie was born March 25, 1922, in Dickinson, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Muth) Oster. She graduated from Dickinson High School in 1940.

Marie married John Wanner Jr., on Nov. 14, 1945; to this union four sons were born, Richard, Patrick, Thomas, and Loren. Marie worked as a bookkeeper in the family plumbing business until she retired in 1986.

She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren, teaching them all the old German dough recipes.

Marie loved to play many card games, and she enjoyed gardening.

Marie fought the disease of Alzheimer’s for the past 13 years.

Marie is survived by her four sons, Richard (Dorothy), Patrick (Elaine), Thomas (Gayleen), and Loren (Adrianne); nine grandchildren, Kim (Ken) Stegner, Jason (Dani) Wanner, Chris (Theresa) Kuhn, Jamie Whitlow, Thomas (Lynnett) Wanner, Corey (Keri) Wanner, Erin Wanner, Kristin (Bryan) Wanner, and Michael Wanner and 12 great-grandchildren, Richie Stegner, Katie Stegner, Rose Kuhn, Issac Kuhn, Joseph Kuhn, Gianna Kuhn, Kaden Whitlow, Kyrie Brenneise, Allison Wanner, Nathan Wanner, Zoe Buchholz and Elyjah Brown; sisters-in-law, Doris Oster and Bernie Oster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, John Jr. on Jan. 12, 1996; her parents; her brothers, Lee, Tom and Joe; her sisters, Rose (Steve) Mosbrucker, Carrie (George) Lengowski, and Pat Kovash; brother-in-law, Tony Kovash; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Wanner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Mott Good Samaritan Society, 401 Millionaire Avenue Mott, ND, 58646.
