BISMARCK — Minot Our Redeemer’s had been enjoying an undefeated, yet unheralded, season through seven games coming into Friday afternoon’s game against Dickinson Trinity.

The No. 3-ranked Titans sent the unranked Knights back to the drawing board.

Jacob Volk scored 27 points and had six rebounds in just 19 minutes to help Trinity crush Our Redeemer’s 75-38 at the Shiloh Christian New Year Invitational.

“We really had a nice defensive effort,” Trinity head coach Gregg Grinsteinner said. “I thought our kids really guarded well. Jacob really got going on early on. We moved him inside, something a little bit different.”

Ben Gordon added 14 points, Jesse Kubik scored 12 and Isiah Binstock chipped in seven points and seven rebounds for the Titans (9-0), who meet No. 4-ranked Fargo Oak Grove at 3 p.m. today at the invite.

Micah Jacobsen and Tanner Strand each had 12 points for the Knights

(7-1).

“It was a good team effort,” Grinsteinner said. “Our kids really rose the challenge of playing somebody undefeated like that.”
