Trinity stays hot, beats Kidder County

BISMARCK — The Dickinson Trinity girls basketball team led at the end of each quarter en route to a 12-point win Saturday.

BISMARCK — The Dickinson Trinity girls basketball team led at the end of each quarter en route to a 12-point win Saturday.

Rachel Jahner knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 14 points to lead the Titans past Kidder County 53-41 at the Bismarck Civic Center Jamboree, which was moved to Shiloh Christian High School after power outages at the Civic Center.

“In the first quarter, we gave up too many points, but I was impressed with the fact we matched the effort every single quarter,” Trinity head coach Alysia Barman said. “That was something that we haven’t done all year. It was total team effort.”

Jahner added six assists, while Kennedy Keator supplied 11 points and Brianna Soehren had six points and nine rebounds. Katelyn Grinsteinner posted eight points.

The Titans outrebounded Kidder County 30-16.

After losing three in a row from the tail end of December to the beginning of January, Trinity has now won three of its last four games.

“We play the best teams in the state early,” Barman said. “We do that on purpose, because we find out in a hurry what all of our weaknesses are. I think that really prepares us to play our region and district opponents.”

Sadie Rohrich had a game-high 16 points for Kidder County. Mary Nicholson followed up added 12.

The Titans travel to Heart River at 7 p.m. Monday.
