A head-on collision involving three vehicles Sunday in McKenzie County ended with one fatality.
Paul J. Mirando, 48, Killdeer, was traveling west in his 2006 Peterbilt on Highway 23, near Watford City, when he crossed the centerline and sideswiped Charles R. Cartwright, 26, Billings, Mont., according to the report from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Mirando’s vehicle continued across the center line after the initial collision and struck a 2008 Sterling pickup driven by Lavada I. Hill, 46, Watford City, who was pronounced dead at the scene from her injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol, McKenzie County Sheriff’s Department and the McKenzie County first responders. Charges are possible pending the outcome of investigation.
