Berger finishes 5-0, Midgets 4 of 6 at the Grand Forks Multiple

GRAND FORKS — The Dickinson High wrestling team repeated its 2-1 performance from opening day to the second day.

Dickinson defeated Devils Lake 49-24 and Fargo South 44-30, but lost to Grand Forks Central 43-28 on Saturday at the Grand Forks Multiple.

“This is a pretty tough tournament,” Dickinson co-head coach Pete Dobitz said. “To come out of it 4-2, we’re pretty happy with that. It was a good tournament to see teams and individuals from the East.”

Dickinson junior Devin Berger, who is ranked No. 2 at 132 pounds, went 5-0 on the weekend. His biggest win of the second day was an 8-5 decision over No. 5-ranked Michael Bell of Fargo South.

The Midgets continue with their final West Region dual of the season traveling to Bismarck Century at 5 p.m. next Saturday.
