Natural gas pipeline near Taylor breaks

A natural gas transmission pipeline which supplies Taylor residents was hit and damaged early Monday evening.

A natural gas transmission pipeline near Taylor was hit early Monday evening. The pipeline is the source of natural gas for Montana-Dakota Utilities customers in Taylor.

Montana-Dakota customers lost natural gas service at about 8:30 p.m. Monday night, said MDU spokesman Mark Hanson.

Natural gas is expected to resume flowing sometime during the night with service techs slated to go door-to-door to relight pilots once the pipeline is repaired and purged, according to a release from MDU.
