WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — A man accused in a shooting in Williston that left another man paralyzed from the chest down has pleaded not guilty to several charges including attempted murder.

Authorities allege that Paul Huckstep, of West Fargo, and several others were involved in a drug dispute with Kenneth Moore in May 2012. Moore, of Boise, Idaho, was shot several times outside an apartment complex. Police Detective David Peterson says one of the bullets hit Moore's spine.

Defense attorney Jay Greenwood says another man — not Huckstep — shot Moore.
